Spanish Translation/Localization

Concentration in Spanish Translation/Localization (STL) teaches strategies of Spanish into English translation and introduces students to various software/web site translation applications.

Spanish Interpreting

Concentration in Spanish Interpreting (SI) teaches strategies for different types of Spanish/English interpreting.

Spanish Concentrations
The equipment in The Interpreting Lab is identical to an interpreting booth at a prestigious venue, such as EU Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg. Each booth features a Televic Lingua Interpreter desk, a full size (20″) screen for video monitoring, Audio-Technica headsets, broadcast quality gooseneck microphones, and Lenovo Ultrabook Laptops.

Spanish for Business

Concentration in Spanish for Business teaches general concepts and skills necessary to perform effectively in professional international business settings.

    • SPA 325: Spanish for Business
    • SPA 326: International Business: Spain/Latin America
    • SPA 327: Spanish for Business II
  • One course between SPA 315-319 or SPA 381: Spanish Translation

Spanish for Health Professions

Concentration in Spanish for Health Professions teaches medical and cultural concepts and prepares students to use Spanish in a healthcare setting. Requirements include SPA 328; SPA 382; and SPA 383.
