Second Language Acquisition, Morpho-syntax, Psycholinguistics
Dr. Tiffany Judy (PhD, University of Florida), Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Spanish, teaches courses in Spanish and linguistics for the Department of Spanish, the Linguistics Program and the Graduate Program in Interpreting and Translation Studies. Her research focuses on adult second language acquisition of Spanish, preferably by speakers of less-commonly studied languages, such as Farsi and Polish. She has also published on child language acquisition, third language acquisition and heritage speakers in venues such as Second Language Research, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Journal of Language Contact and Journal of Child Language, as well as in edited volumes and conference proceedings. Two of Dr. Judy’s current favorite courses to teach are SPA 303: Spanish Conversation and an FYS on linguistic discrimination.
